Dubai Customs has concluded Sarai Ramadan, a first-time exhibition marking the advent of the holy month of Ramadan. The exhibition, which took place between 8-15 June, 2015 at DC main building, saw an array of social and religious activities in preparation for the holy month. Religious books in various languages, Hajj or Umrah requirements, special offers on Umrah trips during Ramadan for DC employees, a section for productive families are some of the highlights of the exhibition.

Khalil Saqer bin Ghairb, Director of Corporate Communication at Dubai Customs, said: “As we approach Ramadan, we are proud to embrace religious initiatives that add to DC’s social contributions over the past years.”

“Dubai Customs stresses its social and cultural roles side-by-side with its economic, commercial and security roles,” Bin Gharib added.

Maryam Khalifa Al Shamsi, Head of Ladies Committee at DC said: “We were so pleased to have IACAD (Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai) with us in this spiritually-driven Ramadan exhibit which showed how strong and fruitful is the partnership between government entities in Dubai. IACAD’s quick response to our request to provide a specialized stand where DC staff and customers can have their queries about Ramadan and other Sharia issues attended to is indeed very much appreciated.”

In this regard, Dr. Mohammed Eyada Al Kubaisi, supreme mufti, Iftaa Department, IACAD, said: “During its participation at the event, IACAD delivered religious fatwas, family guidance services and some general advice, in addition to distributing a number of publications and print material about Islamic Sharia and economy. We were also happy to introduce new Muslim converts and non-Muslims to Islam, its teachings and its merits in different languages.”

Dubai Customs

Dubai Customs is one of the leading government departments taking part in enhancing sustainable development and promoting Dubai’s image worldwide, turning it into a principal capital, business and tourism destination, as it facilitates smooth movement of legitimate trade and leverages economic and social development, the matter which is consistent with its slogan stating "gateway to Dubai’s prosperity", because prosperity is usually based on free trade through a safe, fast and practical environment to meet the needs of people and adapt to their requirements. This in addition to DC’s main role to protect society and borders against those who try to smuggle prohibited substances to or through Dubai threatening the community safety and security.
