Dubai Customs has awarded contractors and consultants that developed the fishermen harbours project at a meeting organised at DC headquarter. Representative from contracting companies and engineering consultancy offices as well as DC engineering and operational team received appreciation letters.

The project aims to support traditional fishermen communities and revive the U.A.E.’s rich heritage. It was commenced in mid-2008 and involved the development of three harbours, while restoring their unique appeal, in keeping with the demands of modern society. The three harbours are Jumeirah 1, Umm Suqeim 1 and Umm Suqeim 2.
