Dubai Culture concludes its summer camps with remarkable success

The summer camps organised by Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) across its venues wrapped up with strong participation, welcoming 758 children aged 4 to 14. The programmes achieved a 98% satisfaction rate, underscoring their role in skill development and preparing participants for the future. This reflects the Authority’s commitment to investing in the next generation to reinforce Dubai’s position as a global centre for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a hub for talent.

The Dubai Public Libraries summer camp initiative, held under the theme ‘Heritage and Innovation,’ was hosted across Al Mankhool, Al Twar, Al Safa Arts & Design, Al Rashidiya, Umm Suqeim, and Hatta libraries, as well as at Al Barsha Community Centre and Al Mizhar Majlis of Dubai’s Community Development Authority. Workshops introduced campers to sustainable design, smart city models built from recyclable materials, solar-powered car races, heritage-inspired fashion projects, chatbot development, and AI-driven storytelling. The programme culminated in exhibitions where young creators presented their work.

The ‘Archaeology Adventure’ camp at Al Shindagha Museum, the UAE’s largest heritage museum, immersed children in the world of heritage and archaeology. They took part in hands-on activities that strengthened analytical thinking and sparked their curiosity, including rock art, metal casting, and excavation practices. At Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children, the ‘A Burst of Imagination’ camp offered a platform for artistic expression through workshops in painting, clay pottery, music, photography, filmmaking, puppet theatre, and animation. Meanwhile, Etihad Museum’s ‘Certified Cultural Guide’ camp focused on leadership and communication, giving participants insight into the nation’s union and the legacy of the founding fathers. Those enrolled were trained to be cultural guides and organise tours, learning to become ambassadors of local culture.
