Dubai Chamber appoints new head of Institutional Support Sector
As part of its new strategy to attract more qualified national workforce, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appointed Essa Ali Al Zaabi, Senior Vice President, Institutional Support Sector, in the Chamber Executive Office.
Heading the Institutional Support Sector, Essa Ali Al Zaabi will be responsible for supporting the Director General in directing and providing leadership to the newly established Division which covers the day-to-day functioning of Finance, Administration, Information Technology, Marketing and Corporate Communication and Human Resources.
With over 13 years of professional experience in the areas of Management, Entrepreneurship, National Development and Human Resources Management, Al Zaabi was responsible for Human Capital function, and played the role of a change agent in transforming “personnel” section to “Human Capital” function, besides overseeing the direction, management and development of the team members working within the function.
H.E. Hamad Buamim, Director General, Dubai Chamber, stated that Al Zaabi is a local talent who can add value to the Chamber’s development efforts in the areas of support services and human resources as our priority is to invest in human resources which is one of the pillars of a successful organisation.
Welcoming Al Zaabi on board, H.E. Buamim informed that his responsibilities in the newly-formed institutional support sector reflect the Chamber’s commitment to the implementation of its new business strategy in providing highest international quality services to the business community while enhancing their competitiveness in the foreign markets.
H.E. Buamim said: “Al Zaabi's vast experience will help us showcase the excellence and efficiency of the Chamber in dealing with the clients as we represent the private sector and believe in a successful public-private sector partnership. We look forward to benefit from his proficiency in development programmes in support services including finance, administration, information technology, marketing and corporate communication and human resources as well as from his abilities to supervise the plans and strategies in these important departments of the Chamber.”
On his part, Al Zaabi thanked Dubai Chamber for his new appointment and reiterated his commitment to work hard to help achieve the objectives of Dubai Chamber stating that the trust shown in him will always motivate him to make more efforts to enhance the role of the Chamber in serving the business community while boosting the reputation of Dubai globally.
He further said that Dubai Chamber is a well-established organisation and has a long history in serving the business community in Dubai while playing a key role in supporting the development of business and promoting the emirate as an international business hub, adding that the Chamber’s name is associated with efficiency and quality service and he will do his best to support this reputation by improving the services offered by the sector he is heading.
Al Zaabi holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from EHSAL European University, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Louisville in the United States. He was the Vice President of the Human Capital Department at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and was also the Deputy General Manager of Emirates Institute for Banking & Financial Studies.
