DP World Sokhna Welcomes First Regular Cruise Ship Since 2011

DP World Sokhna, the leading enabler of global trade and an integral part of the supply chain, today welcomed the first regular cruise ship, the “Cleo”, since 2011 in Sokhna port, which is expected to receive weekly cruise ships bringing tourists to Egypt.

Ajay Singh, CEO of DP World-Sokhna, said: "We are honored to welcome the first regular cruise ship to Sokhna port since 2011. This is a unique milestone highlighting   our capability to serve cargo and passenger ships alike. “We’re expanding our business to introduce cruise ship services to support the tourism sector of the country and its importance to the local economy. “

To celebrate the occasion, DP World-Sokhna hosted a welcome event for over 100 tourists on the cruise ship featuring an Egyptian folkloric troupe. The tourists then travelled for a short visit to Cairo to see the pyramids before proceeding their cruise to Hurghada.
