The Contractors and Consultants Classification, and Engineers Registration Office Organized a workshop with the contractors about the new classification System
The Contractors and Consultants Classification, and Engineers Registration Office in the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) held a workshop with the contractors in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi highlighting the Classification system and the requirements to comply with the new system.
The workshop is the second one of its kind this year and comes within a series of seven workshops to be organized this year and was attended by a large number of Contractors and specialists in this sector.
The Contractors and Consultants Classification, and Engineers Registration Office stressed on the important role that the classification system is playing in terms of strengthening the regulations of the contractors sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Referring to the positive impacts of applying the obligatory classification system and saying that the highly significant contractors sector makes a significant contribution to the local economy.
The Contractors and Consultants Classification, and Engineers Registration Office gave a presentation on the objectives and registration mechanism in the office, stressing the importance of the role of the Office in organizing the construction sector and the benefits it brings to all parties involved.
At the end of the workshop the office confirmed the necessity of registering the contractors in the Classification, and Engineers Registration Office before the deadline which was given at the 21 of November 2014, otherwise those unregistered companies will not be able to renew their trading permits.
The classification process takes into consideration previous experiences and financial and technical capabilities of contracting companies.
At the workshop the contractors exchanged opinions and viewpoints with the Contractors and Consultants Classification, and Engineers Registration Office about the requirements of the classification process.
