The Department of Municipal Affairs organizes introductory seminars on the new operational model of the municipal system

In a move aimed at highlighting the structural changes taking place in the Municipal System in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which reflects the commitment of the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) and the municipalities of the Emirate, Abu Dhabi Municipality,  Al Ain Municipality and the Western Region Municipality to promote integration among them through the development and consolidation of procedures and strategic plans and operational systems, the development team of the new operational model of the municipal system began a series of seminars to highlight this transformation project and the benefits reflected on the efficiency and productivity in the  Municipal work and services provided to the residents.

The development team has held a number of seminars in the DMA and the Municipalities of the Emirate attended by the senior management team in the municipal system and executives and managers of various departments in different, while continuing to include all employees in the DMA and municipalities to in light them of this vital project and promote their knowledge of the new corporate culture and the expected roles for each of them in the light of this project, in order to make it a success and to achieve the desired objectives and mission to provide quality services to the residents of the Emirate and its investors and visitors.

Mr. Youssif Amin Youssef, Director of Municipal Planning Division and Director of the Strategic Planning & Performance Management Office in the Department of Municipal Affairs provided during the seminars a detailed explanation about the newly developed operational model of the system Municipal and outputs of this project and its objectives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of municipal work and upgrading services provided to members of the community through the consolidation of strategies and operational plans and services provided by the municipalities of the emirate. The seminars also discussed work efficiency standard operating models and ways to strengthen the internal capacities and resources in the municipal system, and its positive impact on municipal services.

It is worth mentioning that this project comes in the context of the efforts by the DMA to keep up with the comprehensive development process taking place in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and to lay the groundwork for achieving the objectives of Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 which enables the government of Abu Dhabi to become one of the best five governments in the world in terms of the services provided to members of the community.

The unified operational model will also enhance the efficiency of municipal services and optimize the use of financial resources and promote the principles of corporate governance and transparency in municipal work through the development of common guidelines in the strategic and financial planning and performance management and auditing, as well as to develop the skills of national workforce to provide the best municipal services to residents of the Emirate.
