DEWA hosts delegation from Alstom Company

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received a delegation from the French company ‘Alstom’. The delegation included Michel Augpnnet, Senior Vice President; Stephane Cai, Regional Vice President; and Gilles Picot, Unit Managing Director - Systems unit. Hussain Essa Lootah, EVP of Power Transmission at DEWA attended the meeting.
Al Tayer welcomed the delegation and stressed the importance of enhancing strategic collaboration with ‘Alstom’ and emphasised DEWA’s commitment to implement state-of-the-art technologies that optimize operations and efficiency.
‘Alstom’ is an international leading company for Networks Management, Automation, Technological Control Rooms, and integrated solutions for power generation. The company is focusing on the UAE as it is one of the most important and growing markets internationally.
The delegation briefed Al Tayer on Alstom’s services and technical capabilities, and expressed their interest in DEWA’s projects particularly in the field of power generation and transmission, and substations.
DEWA is going forward with its developmental projects and increasing its installed capacity in line with Dubai Strategic Plan. Led by its vision to become a sustainable world-class utility, DEWA is effectively contributing to the social, economic, and environmental development of Dubai by providing uninterrupted supplies of electricity and water.
The delegation thanked Al Tayer for providing a comprehensive overview of the various facets of DEWA’s operations, projects, and achievements.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed on 1 January, 1992, by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently for several years until then.
