DED to display innovative online services at Gitex Technology Week
The Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai is participating in the GITEX Technology Week, to be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre 20-24 October 2013, with a suite of innovative e-services. The DED stand in GITEX Technology Week will also offer visitors the facility to register on DED portal and get access to a host of e-services and smart applications (Apps).
DED is participating in the premier information technology expo to underline its commitment to providing top quality customer service and reinforcing the mobile government (m-Government) initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to offer government services available on smart devices.
Visitors to the DED stand will be able to learn about the recent additions to the e-services portfolio being progressively expanded by the different business sectors within DED to enhance the overall ease of doing business in Dubai.
The Business Registration & Licensing (BRL) sector in DED will demonstrate its Apps currently available on iPhones and iPads to complete transactions without visiting DED offices or service centres. A special team from BRL will be present at the stand to explain the features of the App and help customers to create an account on the DED portal. Visitors downloading the App at the exhibition will also have the opportunity to join daily raffles and win prizes.
The Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector in DED will bring Sallety.ae, a first-of-its-kind website and smart phone application launched earlier this year to make daily shopping easier for consumers. The website and App enables consumers to browse through shelves of leading hypermarkets and stores in Dubai, compare brands and prices and make their purchase decisions from anywhere round the clock.
Sallety.ae is part of integrating advanced technology to enhance customer convenience and build on Dubai’s reputation as a shopping destination. The smart phone App is available on iPhones and Android platforms. Sallety.ae already has nine leading hypermarkets on board and CCCP is adding more stores to the platform. The website and App also assists consumers to submit complaints.
