Community Development Authority honours partners in “Your home…Our home”

The Community Development Authority (CDA) honoured representatives of entities participating in ‘Your Home… Our Home’ initiative, in recognition of their effective cooperation and contribution in renovating and repairing old houses. 

CDA launched this project to support and help the families of old homes around Dubai who consider maintenance a financial burden by providing them with free renovations, while raising awareness about voluntary work and motivating other members of society to participate. CDA has renovated three houses in Jumeirah so far, out of 12 houses coming under the first phase of the project. 

H.E. Khaled AL Kamda honoured Mr. Abhay Urankar, Mr. Sudheer Ramachandran and Mr. Premkumar of Emcon Company as well as Mr. Sunil Sawlani of  Roti Mum cafe, and Mr. Costas Frangoudes of Wade Adams Company who have supplied the volunteers with tools, material and catering.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote the standards of social services in Dubai,” said H.E. Khaled Al Kamda, Director General of Community Development Authority”. 

H.E. added: “CDA thanks the representatives of all the entities who contributed to make this initiative a success. CDA is keen on strengthening cooperation between all the partners in both the private and the public sectors to provide the community with the best services.” 

Praising the CDA for its community role, the representatives expressed their gratitude at being honored for their participation, and affirmed continued cooperation with CDA on various projects.

​​​The Community Development Authority (CDA) was founded by a decree of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in July 2008. CDA is responsible for setting up and developing a framework for social development, and aims to achieve the goals outlined in the Dubai Strategic Plans.
