The 10X Initiative team at the Dubai Community Development Authority (CDA) concluded a series of interactive brainstorming sessions aimed at accelerating social initiatives in the emirate and transforming them into tangible courses of action to be tested and implemented on the ground.

This is driven with the participation of an integrated team of 45 members of the human resources in the field of design and technology, as well as representatives CDA’s strategic partners, led by the Dubai Center for the Development of the Islamic Economy, and Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders.

The final presentation was attended by Saeed Ahmad Al Tayer, CEO - Social Planning and Development Sector and Acting Director-General at CDA, Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar, CEO of Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre, Fatima Butti Al Muhairi, Director of Investment and Social Responsibility, and the Team Leader of 10X and other officials and strategic partners.

Saeed Ahmed Al Tayer said: "These sessions support the initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to adopt new models of government work and industry of the future to drive sustainable community development and transform Dubai into the largest laboratory for future government experiences in the world."

He added that the results of the work of the 10X team are part of the framework to foreseeing the future and simulating global best practices in community development planning. The work also reaffirms the leadership of Dubai’s experience in creating new concepts of government work and in effectively translating them into reality in a short span of time. The goal is to serve the community, which is the top priority of the Authority.

He added: "This brainstorming session underlines Dubai's growth as one of the fastest growing cities in the world and will contribute to shaping its vision of being the future city through new frameworks that contribute to the sustainability of Dubai's competitiveness at all levels.”

Fatima Al Muhairi said: "Through 10X workshops, we focused on the social and economic development of people and in creating ideal conditions for the development of a social system for residents and visitors of the Emirate of Dubai, which has established Dubai among the world’s most developed cities in terms of promoting human aspirations, hopes and ambitions. The goal is to meet the needs of the future, for a period of not less than ten years, and the development of work systems to meet these needs in a manner that ensures the continuity of life of prosperity enjoyed by residents of the emirate.”

She added: “The results of the brainstorming sessions have achieved a quantum leap in terms of empowering individuals and activating the frameworks that enable Dubai to transfer its pioneering experience to the world regarding the empowerment of people. The outputs of 10X will not only benefit the population of Dubai but also the world as a whole by creating data-driven platforms regarding human development to bring out the best in the people.”

The brainstorming sessions focused on how to look into the future regarding community development in an integrated manner by monitoring the needs of the individual based on accurate data. This allows to simulate reality and anticipate community experience for at least 10 years, and drives work in harmony with the needs of all segments of society to develop the perceptions of future life in Dubai and the dissemination of rich city experiences across the world.

In March, CDA set up a team to participate in the 10x initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the Chairman of the Executive Council. The team included young, ambitious members as well as influential participants, which ensured the representation of the broad spectrum of the society and the transformation of their creative ideas into innovative and short-term projects.

​​​The Community Development Authority (CDA) was founded by a decree of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in July 2008.
