Boursa Kuwait Hosts Students From the College of Business Studies

Boursa Kuwait, has recently hosted 19 trainees of the Capital Markets Authority’s program “New Graduates – 4th Edition” to raise their awareness on the history of Boursa Kuwait.

The purpose of this program is to support freshly graduated youth of Kuwait, develop and enhance their abilities to engage with the business community. The program included introducing Boursa Kuwait’s main objectives and highlighting the responsibilities of its various divisions, furthermore, graduates visited the trading hall; where the actual trading of shares take place, they finally went through a presentation which gave them a clear idea on the future of Kuwait’s economy as well as the capital markets sector.

Boursa Kuwait will continue to raise awareness of the organization and its main objectives, while contributing to the development of the ‘privatization culture’ among government institutions through similar educational sessions.

Boursa Kuwait was founded on April 21st, 2014 by the Capital Markets Authority Commissioners’ Council Resolution No. 37/2013 dated 20th November, 2013 and the Capital Markets Authority Law No. 7/2010. In addition to being primarily responsible for regulating all aspects of the Kuwaiti capital market, the Capital Markets Authority also has full ownership of Boursa Kuwait, which manages the exchange operations. Boursa Kuwait is responsible for introducing new trading rules, risk management practices, price discovery mechanisms and new technology to ensure that Boursa Kuwait is as robust and secure as possible. The establishment of Boursa Kuwait marked the first step in privatizing the Kuwaiti Stock Exchange, which was founded in 1983.
