Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) recently announced the nomination of Mrs.  Eman AlBinghadeer, Head of Internal Shari’a Audit at BisB, amongst the list of the top 150 most influential women in Islamic business and finance for the third consecutive year. Mrs. Eman AlBinghadeer has been ranked #10, outperforming her previous achievement. The announcement was made during the annual ceremony organized by Cambridge IFA earlier this month in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Commenting on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of BisB, Mr. Hassan Jarrar, said, “We would like to congratulate Mrs. Eman AlBinghadeer on this remarkable achievement, by which she has outdone herself and has been ranked #43 and #35 consecutively in the past two years, and #10 in 2021. Mrs Eman AlBinghadeer is the first female Shari’a auditor in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Gulf region. As Head of Internal Shari’a Audit at BisB, Mrs. Eman liaises with the members of the Shari’a Advisory Board of the Bank, and is in charge of enhancing the bank’s Shari’a auditing and accounting systems, monitoring operations from a Shari’a perspective and implementing the necessary measures and actions to ensure compliance. Prior to this position, she worked as a Conference Coordination Assistant to the Accounting & Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), and she previously held several positions, including the Secretary of the Shari’a Council and Coordinator of Shari’a Conferences positions. In 2005, she joined BisB and held many positions until she was promoted to Head of Internal Shari’a Audit.

Mrs. Eman AlBinghadeer holds an academic certificate from Bournemouth University in Computing and Business Studies. She also holds a Diploma in the Islamic Commercial Jurisprudence Program and Shari’a Supervisory and Audit. She is a Certified Islamic Banker (CIB), a Certified Specialist in Islamic Accounting (CSIA), and a Certified Shari'a Adviser and Auditor (CSAA) issued by AAOIFI and a holder of various certificates in Shari’a auditing and accounting. Mrs. Eman also holds an International Computer Driving License (ICDL).
