The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority Grants the Seal of Excellence and Quality for Handicraft Products
In line with its aim to promote local artisan goods, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), represented by the Handicrafts Directorate, distributed certificates to local craftsmen and granted the seal of excellence and quality to Bahraini handicrafts products during a ceremony held on Thursday 7th November 2017 at the Crafts Industries Development Centre.
Prior to the ceremony, the committee held a meeting to evaluate the products according to set guidelines focusing on the highest quality of standards, and ensured the products are environmentally friendly during the manufacturing process.
This recognition acts as a seal of approval for customers looking to purchase high-quality Bahraini products that are environmentally sustainable, and also authenticates the originality of the products, making them distinguishable from imitations.
“The BTEA has always strived to develop and promote the art of local handicrafts and preserve it for future generations by hosting a series of training workshops. The seal ensures buyers receive high quality Bahraini products that comply with the highest standards of excellence, originality, innovation and environmental sustainability,” said the Director of Handicrafts Directorate at BTEA, Shaikha Wafa Saif Al Khalifa.
As part of its ongoing efforts to preserve Bahrain's traditional crafts and promote the local artisan products, the BTEA launched the stamp of excellence earlier in the year to protect artisans from counterfeit and non-professional goods.
