Arab States Broadcasting Union Selects Abu-Gazaleh as Chairman of the Board of Trustees

Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) selects Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh as its Chairman of trusts.

In response to being selected as ASBU Chairman, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his appreciation for this position, stressing the importance of ASBU and its role in serving Arab efforts in the fields of media and communications in addition to its distinguished role in preparing the new generation to international academic and technical standards, in order for them to contribute to the development of Media systems for individuals and institutions based on its belief in the importance of broadcasting and its impact on social behavior.

Due to the importance of the media and its role as a fourth authority, Abu-Ghazaleh pointed out that it is necessary for the media to keep up with various technological developments that serve its work, especially in light of rapid global technological progress which is essential for the development of media in all its forms and serves as a tool for linking media institutions. He also stressed the importance of providing the information to the highest standards of credibility, professionalism and accuracy.

Dr. Talal emphasized that Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization is fully prepared to provide support and assistance to ASBU in various fields, in order to serve Arab media through its professional and technical services and through its professional experts in different fields.

In a speech delivered by Mr. Mohammed Al-Adayla, ASBU Chairman, he confirmed that the selection of Abu-Ghazaleh was due to his vast knowledge and intellectual potential which will add "quality and quantity to the process of ASBU and its name, on Arab and international levels."

ASBU is a professional Arab organization established by a decision of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information and operates under the umbrella of the League of Arab States as one of associations and organizations specialized in media affairs. ASBU has an observer seat in the Council of Arab Ministers and a member of the Executive Office of the League of Arab States. ASBU provides a set of services, the most important of which, is training in all areas related to the media sector. It also organizes conferences related to media, and has a specialized center for media studies and research.
