Akram Abu Elhuda appointed General Counsel and Company Secretary for Al Habtoor Group

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group has appointed Akram Abu Elhuda as General Counsel and Company Secretary of Al Habtoor Group.
Abu Elhuda joined the management team on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, bringing with him a wealth of legal and corporate experience from around the region, primarily in the UAE. He is a legal counselor with 17 years of post-qualification experience in the GCC, during which he has held several senior legal positions.
Before joining the Al Habtoor Group he was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Abu Dhabi General Services Company PJSC (“MUSANADA"), Senior Counsel at Hadef & Partners, Executive Director Legal and Company Secretary at Sorouh Real Estate PJSC (prior to its merger with Aldar Properties PJSC), and Vice President Legal at the Majid Al Futtaim Group.
Abu Elhuda will lead the Al Habtoor Group’s Legal Department where he will manage the legal aspects of the Group’s business, including key contract negotiation legal outsourcing; policies and procedures as well as legal strategy and compliance. He will work closely with the Board of Directors, and report directly to the Chairman and Vice Chairman and CEO. He will also serve as Company Secretary, a new role within the Group, as it continues to embrace best practice, and corporate governance.
