ADX hosts a student delegation from Elon University

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) hosted a student delegation from Elon University in North Carolina, USA, in an effort to promote its role as one of the most important investment platforms in the UAE.

The 33 students visiting the UAE as a part of student exchange program from Elon Business School, USA, were given a tour of the exchange followed by a presentation on the UAE capital markets. The student delegation was briefed on the procedures, trading operations and e-services performed in the Exchange. An explanation of the investment in the market, accounts and financial transactions was also provided.

During the visit the delegation learnt about the role of ADX in reinforcing investments in the emirate of Abu Dhabi along with the trading tools that ensure regional as well as international leadership and uniqueness of the emirate.

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) was established on 15th of November 2000 by Local Law No. (3) of 2000, the provisions of which vests the Market with a legal entity of autonomous status, independent finance and management, and gives ADX the necessary supervisory and executive powers to exercise its functions.

Moreover, ADX has the authority to establish centers and branches outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and so far it has done so in Al Ain, Zayed City, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah.

ADX's board of directors is comprised of seven members nominated by Amiri Decree. The members of the board hold office for a term of three years. The first board of directors was constituted by Amiri Decree No. (8) of 2000.
