Abu Dhabi City Municipality Serves 63 Warnings Against Casual Satellite Dishes, 26 Against Damaged Flags

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has served 63 warnings against casual satellite dishes and 26 warnings against damaged flags, and removed 10 disfigured flag in Musaffah Industrial. The campaign is intended to maintain the urbanized outlook of the city, and ensure public health & safety in an environment free from any practices breaching municipal laws. It also aims to ensure the means of comfort to all community members and render the city smarter.

The Municipality called on the public to cooperate with the civic body in renovating and urbanizing the city, preserving the general appearance and avoiding installing satellite dishes in a random & disfiguring manner, incompatible with the laws.

The Municipality calls upon all community segments to adhere to the provisions of the Decree No. (2) / 2012 as regards preserving the overall appearance of the city, general health and public tranquillity in Abu Dhabi emirate, as well as the Executive Regulation regarding satellite dishes. The malpractices considered as offences include installing more than four satellite dishes on the rooftop of a building, installing satellite dishes on balconies in all types of buildings, installing satellite dishes on rooftop walls and garden walls, and hanging connecting connection cables on building façade.

In the meantime, the Municipality, in coordination with strategic partners, is seeking to improve the efficiency of buildings, and gear them to the highest standards of environment and sustainability. Among the negatives resulting from this phenomenon is that it hampers carrying out periodic maintenance or renovation works, and blemishes the general appearance of the capital. The phenomenon also undermines the efforts made to leverage the efficiency of buildings and render them complaint with the health & environmental standards, which provide the safety valve for the residents, visitors and tourists of the city.

The call for residents’ cooperation and compliance with the laws is intended to ensure their own safety in the first place, and leave a lasting impression on visitors who flock to city to enjoy the sense of safety and security.
