Abu Dhabi Municipality Participates in Future Landscape & Public Realms Conference

Under the patronage and participation of the Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM), represented by Municipal Infrastructure and Assets Sector, the Future Landscape & Public Realms Conference to be held on the 29th and 30th of this month at Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort and Spa, organised by AMC. The conference will focus on improving urbanisation and quality of life through designing sustainable landscaping and innovative playgrounds. Also, it will present the latest developments of ongoing projects and new initiatives to transform urban areas of the city.

The municipality’s participation and sponsorship of this conference comes in line with its commitment to provide sustainability standards in all infrastructure projects. It also forms part of its strategy to adopt the world's best practices of landscaping public realms, facilities and parks. The municipality aims to provide all means of happiness and comfort to community members and achieve the public health standards in view of its commitment to increase the green spaces and natural aesthetic views in a way that highlights the integration of infrastructure projects and the recreational facilities services. It will also contribute to enhancing the cultural and aesthetic appearance, which the municipality is working to achieve continuously.

The Future Landscape & Public Realms Conference will discuss on the first day some topics such as improving urbanisation through creating sustainable public spaces and providing safe and friendly playgrounds for families. It will a discusses the guiding principles for designing public spaces in landscaping projects, and the latest developments in the design of public spaces in Abu Dhabi City Municipality.

The conference includes a panel discussion on developing the urban city of the future for children and transforming public spaces into recreational spaces for community members. The panel will also discuss the innovation and technology trends in public spaces, creating an optimal combination of recreation, shopping and family entertainment, besides achieving sustainability by encouraging the adoption of landscapes and product concepts in designs, and the latest trends in landscape design and architecture for public spaces.

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality presents some initiatives during the conference, including development services and capacities for park projects and public spaces, as well as ways to improve urbanisation and quality of life. It also presents the guiding principles for designing the public spaces in landscaping projects. 

The second day of the conference focuses on improving partnership and cooperation among stakeholders in public spaces and developing these public spaces through public-private partnerships. It also includes a panel discussion of integrating stadiums and playgrounds effectively into public spaces to enhance the recreational experience of users and examining sustainable landscape science and its role in reducing the impact of climate change. Discussions will include a strategy to adopt the design and public spaces in the city to reduce the impact of harmful emissions to the environment.

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality attaches great importance to provide green spaces, improve parks and children’s playgrounds and enhance the cultural and aesthetic appearance of Abu Dhabi. It is constantly working to make improvements through constructing agricultural projects and revamping parks and recreational games. It also seeks to maintain and increase green spaces, carry out natural landscaping in different areas of Abu Dhabi Island, and building parks in residential neighbourhoods and multi-playgrounds to satisfy the residents and provide them with all means of comfort.
