Abu Dhabi City Municipality receives a delegation from Al Madina Al Munawara Municipality

As step to enhance cooperation in the Municipal Field H.E. Engineer Ahmed Mohamed Al Shareef the Under Secretary of the Department of Municipal Affairs in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (DMA) received a Saudi delegation from Al Madina Al Munawara Municipality headed by Dr. Khalid Abdul Gadir Tahir, the Secretariat-General of Al Madina Al Munawara.

The meeting exchanged knowledge and experience in the Municipal work and discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in various areas in the Municipal sector for the mutual benefit of the residents in the two brotherly countries. 

H.E the Under Secretary of the DMA gave during the meeting which took place in the Abu Dhabi City Municipality a full presentation about the legislative roles of the DMA within the Municipal System and its projects and objectives to enhance Municipal services provided to the residents, investors and visitors of the Emirate as needed within the frame of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.

Engineer Salah Awad Al Sarraj, Acting Executive Director of Town Planning Sector, in the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City reviewed in a presentation during the meeting, the infrastructure and town planning projects. He also touched on the achievements made in environment and sustainable development examples of which include the Health, Safety & Environment Management System, Building Permits, Sustainable Lighting, public parks and recreations and electronic services provided to the residents. 

The Saudi delegation expressed his admiration towards the advanced level of municipal projects and services provided by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City and emphasized on the importance of exchanging knowledge and experience in the sector.

It is worth mentioning that this visit to the UAE comes at a time the Municipality of Al Madina Al Munawara is looking into the advanced infrastructure projects in the region and at a time the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah approved the new expansion project for Masjid Al Haram which will triple the capacity of Masjid Al Haram.
