Oman Drydock hands over 300th vessel

Under the auspices of Said bin Hamdoon al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for Ports and Marine Affairs, Oman Drydock Company (ODC) celebrated the handing over the vessel No. 300 since starting operation in 2011.
 
In a statement to reporters, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for Ports and Marine Affairs said that the vessel which was delivered today was converted from a multipurpose vessel to an oil tanker, a milestone achievement and an important project for Oman Drydock Company.
 
On his part, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Malik bin Abdullah al- Hinai, Advisor of the Ministry of Finance and Chairman of ODC said that Oman Drydock Company celebrates today its success in repairing ' Olympic Luck 'vessel, the 300th vessel to be repaired since the company has started operation. This repair is the first of its kind to take place at the Drydock. 
'The company long-terms strategy focuses on diversifying the scope of work by adding ship conversion, ship repair and steel materials manufacture businesses.
 
On his part, Sheikh Muaadhid bin Mohammed al- Yaqubi, Governor of Al Wusta Governorate said in a statement the projects carried out at the Special Economic Zone in Duqm add value and enhance economic growth at the Governorate of Al Wusta.
 
It is worth mentioning that the repair for Olympic Luck, owned by one of the biggest Greek companies, included the use of 2500 tons of steel, mechanic works and paints. It also included routine maintenance operations using modern technologies and qualified teams.
