The sea water desalination plant in Tigzirt was launched Sunday in presence of Algeria's Water Resource Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal during a working and inspection visit he paid to Tizi-Ouzou province, APS reported. With a capacity of 2,500 cubic metres per day, this plant will supply a population of 17,000 inhabitants with drinking water and is expected to create about twenty new permanent jobs.
This plant is part of the emergency program, initiated by the government to boost water resource level and to reduce, the deficit registered in certain coastal cities. (menaerport.com)
