The plan adopted by the Moroccan government for the tourism sector aims at generating 80,000 direct jobs and 100,000 indirect ones, said recently tourism, handicraft and social economy minister, Adil Douiri.

Douiri told the Moroccan TV channel “TVM” that, in addition to the government’s ambition to attract 10 million tourists by 2010, the plan is also directed to triple the Moroccan tourism activity during the next decade.

Douiri pointed out that the number of tourists went up by 6 percent last year compared to 2002.

He added that Moroccans were the second customers in Moroccan hotels, after French tourists. (menareport.com)
