Le Meridien's seven United Arab Emirates (UAE) properties have joined forces in a thrust to reinforce the luxury hotel group's dominant presence in the UAE where Le Meridien manages a stock of almost 2,500 rooms in three emirates.

The 20-member strong roadshow kicks off in Qatar on February 2, before moving on to Kuwait, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. The team will also visit travel agents and corporate customers in the UAE.

The initiative is just one of a number of cluster marketing activities planned in 2003 to focus the promotion of the UAE to neighboring markets. Intra-Arabian travel has long since been identified as an important sector by Le Meridien and the emirates' tourism bodies, including Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.

Le Méridien is a global hotel group with a portfolio of more than 140 luxury and upscale hotels in 55 countries worldwide. The majority of its properties are located in the world's top cities and resorts throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.

The company also enjoys a strategic alliance with JAL-owned Nikko Hotels, providing guests access to an additional 42 properties around the world. Headquartered in London, Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is owned by Nomura International and managed by Terra Firma Capital Partners. — (menareport.com)
