The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) on Monday signed a JD14 million agreement with a foreign consortium for the rehabilitation of the Shidiyeh phosphate mines in southern Jordan.
According to Petra news agency, the European Investment Bank is extending a loan for the implementation of the project, JPMC Chairman Nasser Madadha said, adding that the rehabilitation process is due to start by the middle of August.
The process also includes equipment maintenance, spare parts replacement and one-year training of workers. The project, which will take six months to complete, is aimed at boosting the phosphate production. (menareport.com)
