Irish based e-learning company Electric Paper has signed a contract with the Jordanian Ministry of Education to supply automated tests for the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) for all 50,000 teachers in the Kingdom.
This deal comes on the back of the announcement in July of the rollout of the localized Arabic version of Electric Paper's flagship AutoTest product throughout the Arab region.
The ICDL is the cornerstone of Jordan's national development strategy, which aims to stimulate economic and social development by transforming the Kingdom into a technology-driven economy. IT proficient teachers are a necessary pre-requisite for this program. To this end, all teacher promotions have been linked to attainment of the qualification.
AutoTest is an automated testing system for the ICDL, which reduces the overall administration time and costs associated with manual marking thereby offering training centers significant savings.
Building on its success in its core markets of Ireland, UK and Australia, Electric Paper is now looking to expand its business globally and has produced versions of its products in Arabic, Chinese and Spanish for major contracts in the US, the Middle East, like the one announced for China and Latin America.
Electric Paper specializes in the development of e-learning courses that assess, train and test IT literacy. The company's interactive courseware is accredited to the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) and Computer Literacy and Information Technology (CLAIT) standards.
