After orders for import of six foreign-made automobiles were placed, the import of cars have been resumed by Iran follwing a 10-year halt, IRNA reported Monday.
The commerce ministry has proposed 130 percent customs fees on the imports of cars to carry out the two-pronged policy of support for domestically-manufactured vehicles and to facilitate the imports of cars into the country. The policy has been ratified by the cabinet and announced by the
Customs Administration.
The Iranian government expects to generate some Rls 6,000 billion of revenues from imports of automobiles which experts say will be realized through imports of 30,000 cars this year. (menareport.com)
