Iran copper output to rise

Managing Director of National Iranian Copper Industries Company Morad Alizadeh said on Monday that the country's copper production capacity will rise to 280,000 tons a year by March 20, 2005.  

 

Alizadeh said that in the first quarter of the year (started on March 19) a project for extension of Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex, as well as projects for establishment of a copper smelting plant in Miduk and a copper foundry in Khatunabad will become oper ational.  

 

According to him, one more project for establishment of a copper concentrate processing and production unit in Sungun, east Azarbaijan, is projected to be operational by June 20. (menareport.com)
