ALBAWABA - The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have been making headlines since their launch, primarily due to overheating concerns. However, users are now reporting a new issue: swollen batteries.
A Reddit user, going by u/Leather_Cheerio_402, recently posted an image of their iPhone 15 Pro, showing a battery that had expanded to the point of causing the screen to bulge. The user explained that they had acquired the phone just a few days ago and discovered this problem while trying to attach a protective case.
Although they purchased the phone on a Monday and hadn't noticed any issues at that time, it wasn't until a few days ago, when they attempted to fit a case, that they realized something was amiss. Initially, they considered ordering a new case, unaware that their phone's battery had swollen. Remarkably, the phone remains operational.
What's worth noting is that when the user sought assistance at an Apple store to resolve the issue, they were directed to return the phone to Verizon, the place of purchase. The iPhone community has argued that the Genius Bar should assist users irrespective of where they bought the phone. However, the user later indicated they would exchange their phone through Verizon.
If you discover your iPhone 15 Pro's battery has swollen, it is crucial to discontinue use immediately and reach out to either Apple or an authorized service provider. Swollen batteries can pose serious risks, potentially leading to fires.
