The Governor of the Emirates Central Bank, Sultan Bin Nasser Al-Suweidy, announced that a united common Gulf currency will be available in Arabian Gulf markets by 2010, based on a motion passed at the 22nd Gulf Summit in Muscat last week, reported Al-Hayat. The governor added that the new currency will not be issued before Arabian Gulf Cooperation Council (AGCC) member countries satisfy specific financial and economic conditions. — (menareport.com)
