Gulf Air will increase the number of its flights from Muscat's Al-Seeb International Airport commencing in July 2003. Scaling up from the present 74 to 116 weekly flights represents a 57 percent increase in services to 19 destinations, which will include the introduction of new services to Frankfurt, Dacca, Islamabad and Lahore.
The revised schedule also includes reinstated flights to Tanzania’s spice island of Zanzibar. The twice-weekly service to Dar-es-Salaam and Zanzibar will commence on June 18 this year and will be operated by Gulf Traveler, Gulf Air’s new all economy full service airline.
Weekly services to key destinations have also been increased to meet market demand, with seven weekly flights to Delhi, 13 to London Heathrow, 33 to Abu Dhabi, 20 to Bahrain and three daily services to Dubai and two daily services to Mumbai.
Gulf Air is also actively engaged in ongoing discussions with Oman Air to explore areas of co-operation and synergies, which will benefit the regional airline industry and its customers. Discussions with Oman Air have centered on network, cargo operations, the sharing of infrastructure, and the expansion of code sharing arrangements. — (menareport.com)
