Vice President of Distribution at Dubai Bank Latifa Fikree, one of the few women to hold a senior position in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) banking industry, has been recognized for her professional achievements by the Dubai Women’s College (DWC).
Fikree received the award at the annual End of Year Celebration, which is held by DWC to celebrate the achievements of its outstanding staff and students, and to appreciate its support partners.
With more than 10 years of banking industry experience, Fikree has many notable achievements. Prior to joining Dubai Bank, Fikree worked at Citibank where she formulated and introduced a successful strategy for targeting the UAE national segment. Fikree also introduced the first telesales unit in the banking sector in the UAE and applied the one-stop banking concept throughout the UAE industry.
Having moved to Dubai Bank last year, Latifa became the first UAE National to hold a position of Head of Distribution in the UAE banking industry. She has piloted and launched key projects, the most recent being ‘Tijori’, the region’s first palm recognition access, 24-hour safety deposit box facility. In her role Fikree also assumes responsibility for the bank’s branch expansion plans and ensuring that Dubai Bank provides its customers with a range of unique financial products and services at its branch locations.
A key supporter of the women’s movement, Fikree was Dubai Women’s College Alumni President from 1993 to 1998. She has played an important role to promote women in the workplace and given many papers, one of which, ‘Women and Profession’ was presented to Sheikha Hend Al-Maktoum, the Dubai Women’s College and a selection of colleges and universities. — (menareport.com)
