The Dubai Ports Authority (DPA) recorded a 10 percent increase in container handling during the first quarter of 2002 compared with the same period last year. The company handled 3.5 million containers over the course of 2001, reported WAM.
DPA serves more than 125 shipping lines. Its facilities include cold stores and cool stores in the Jebel Ali Free Zone to a purpose-built berth for import of bulk aluminum oxide and expanded tanker jetties to handle the requirement for petroleum and petrochemical products.
