The construction works of El Hamma sea water desalination unit (Algiers) should begin before the end of this year, the Algerian Energy Company (AEC) told APS.
"The works in this unit of a capacity of 200,000 cubic metres daily, intended to supply Algiers with drinking water, shall start later this year," the company said.
The works on the project, totalling an investment cost of $225 million, will commence as soon as the fund (70 percent of the investment amount) is made available.
