German automobile maker Audi announced this week that 2013 will be the first time that the company sells more than 10,000 car units in the Middle East in one year, according to Arabian Business.
Within the first nine months of 2013 alone, Audi's sales in the Middle East have increased more than 16 percent with deliveries estimated to be 7,719 versus 6,629 units from the same period last year.
Audi's highest selling vehicle is the Q7 with a total of 1,567 units sold, representing an increase of 37.8 percent since last year. The A6 sedan and the Q5 SUV are the second and third most popular among buyers, with 1,262 and 1,263 units sold, respectively.
Audi's managing director of the Middle East, Trevor Hill, said that 2013 "will be the first time where we'll cross the threshold of 10,000 units sold annually in the Middle East. This is a big achievement for us, [and] as we grow in the region we have to maintain our Audi premium promise also in sales and after sales service." He further added that Audi has "initiated a number of large-scale construction projects together with our regional partners to achieve [and maintain Audi's premium promise]."
Buyers from UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait have purchased the highest number of Audis so far this year, at 3,235, 1,403, and 1,018 units, respectively.
