Acer Computers, one of the world's top 10 branded PC vendors, will use Gitex 2003 to showcase its largest ever range of mobile computing products.

The company, which has recently extended its range of tablet PCs and notebooks in the region, will offer special promotions to visitors at the computer shopper fair.

Since the launch of the Middle East's first tablet PC – the Acer TravelMate C100 – at last year's Gitex exhibition, Acer has sold an impressive amount of units. Based on the demand generated from Gitex for the tablet PC, Acer aims for similar success with its newest tablet PC the TravelMate C110, the first and only Intel Centrino based Tablet PC in the Middle East.

“Acer expects the TravelMate C110 – which includes Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and the latest Intel Centrino Mobile Technology – to be popular with visitors to both the exhibition and Gitex Computer Shopper,” said General Manager of Acer Computer Middle East, Krishna Murthy.

“Acer has been a regular at Gitex for many years and it is the strong business benefits the exhibition delivers, which keeps us coming back. This year, Acer will be displaying everything from its latest tablet PC, the TravelMate C110, to its entire range of TravelMate and Aspire Notebooks, as well as its latest desktop PCs and servers,” added Murthy.

Strong levels of interest are also expected for Acer's TravelMate 800, which has been selling well across the region. The model was the first Centrino-based notebook PC available on the global market.

Established in 1976, Acer is among the world's top ten branded PC vendors. The company employs marketing and service operations across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas, supporting dealers and distributors in over 100 nations.

Established in 1992, Acer Computer Middle East has over 100 employees servicing the IT requirements of over 50 countries in the Middle East, Africa and the sub-continent. It has its own facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone. The 22,500 square meter regional office includes a warehouse, Uniload assembly plant and a customer and technical service center capable of handling component-level repairs. — (menareport.com)
