Venezuela's National System of Youth and Children's Orchestras have entered the Guinness World Record by forming the largest orchestra, the Venezuelan government said on Saturday.
According to local media, a group of 12,000 musicians, including both children and adults, from the orchestra played for the record on November 13. The performers' ages ranged between 12 and 77 as they wore black pants, white shirts and mandatory face masks.
The musicians, who participated in the world record Orchestra, were brought together by the country's publicly funded "El Sistema" program.
The country's president Nicolas Maduro showed a certificate from Guinness World Records recognizing the victory.
