Eight Instagrammers who will redefine the way you see Egypt

Eight Egyptian photographers have taken to Instagram to share shots that capture Egypt as you've likely never seen it, with pictures covering Cairo and Alexandria and everywhere in between. The Facebook-owned platform has passed 400 million monthly active users, according to CNBC, making Instagram more popular than rival Twitter, and creating the world's biggest art gallery for amateur and seasoned shutterbugs.

Al Bawaba caught up with each of them to ask why they love photographing their country. Come see how eight Instagrammers are capturing a different side of Egypt.

@Mostafa_Bassim - “I started photographing three years ago to document the events of the revolution and the turmoil witnessed in the streets of Egypt, also to document aspects of daily life in small local parts of Egypt.”

I was not good in fishing and I easily get sea sickness, but I was really excited. In my case, I caught unique moments rather than fish."

@Aliaona_ - "I grew up in another country, so when I came back to Alexandria, I studied history and I feel so happy that my city is such a great place - built by Alexander in 332 BC! I started photography to say that my city is still great and beautiful, and I try to focus on people from the original city and old neighborhood."
