ALBAWABA - World War III trends on social media as a photo of The Simpsons shared online allegedly saying that the American series predicted the Iranian attack against Israel.

A photo of Homer Simpson standing next to a television that shows a "Breaking News sign," next to the Israeli flag, a blast as well as "2024" claimed to be taken from one of the episodes of the famous American series.

The phrase "Global Conflict WWIII" was also spotted in the photo of The Simpsons series. The picture was trending following the Iranian attack against Israel which came in retaliation for a deadly strike on Iran's Damascus consulate during which seven IRGC members were killed.

A person posted the picture on X and claimed that The Simpsons has also predicted "that India will launch a nuclear attack on Pakistan which will cause crazy inflation rates."

However, social media users and experts confirmed that the photo was edited from one of the episodes of The Simpsons American series adding that the series never predicted the Iranian attack, not the possibility of a World War III.

The Simpsons is a well-known American series that gained wide fame for predicting major world events such as Donald Trump's presidential election victory, the Coronavirus pandemic, Lady Gaga's Super Bowl performance, and Kobe Bryant's plane crash.

The hashtags "#WorldWarIII and #WorldWar3" have also been trending since the announcement of Iran's "Operation Honest Promise" against Israel on Saturday night.

"Last night Iran fired over 300 ballistic missiles, UAVs and cruise missiles towards Israel," Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari said in a televised speech on Sunday.
