ALBAWABA - Tehran residents reported that they witnessed thick black clouds and toxic black rain after Israeli strikes on oil storage sites in the capital of Iran, CNN correspondent Fred Pleitgen said on video.

A video was shared on social media showing massive black clouds covering the sky in Tehran, causing an oily rainfall, leaving the floor black.

Reporter described oil-filled rain, "You can see that the rain, the rainwater, is actually black—also saturated, it appears, with oil," Pleitgen said.

"So that’s what’s coming down this morning, this sort of oil-filled rain that we have right now in the Iranian capital, after the strikes took place," he added.

Iran "temporarily interrupted" fuel distribution in Tehran after the recent US and Israeli attacks on the oil depots in the Iranian capital, AFP said, citing an official.

An Iranian official reported on early Sunday morning that American-Israeli strikes targeted five fuel depots in and near the capital, Tehran, one of which was the Shahran oil depot. Videos of the incident flooded social media, capturing Tehran engulfed in heavy black smoke and massive fires.
