ALBAWABA - An Iranian TV director was fired from his job after a reporter made a serious on-air blunder when he chanted "Death to Khamenei" during the February 11 ceremonies to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the Islamic revolution.
The mistake of the Iranian reporter led to the dismissal of the broadcasting director of the "Hamoon" network, according to the Iranian Radio and Television News Agency (IRIB).
During a live report, Musab Rasouli-Zadeh, who works for the provincial Hamoon network, echoed the participants' chants by saying: "Allahu Akbar, Death to Khamenei, and Death to America."
Reporter Mosab Rasouli Zadeh appologized later and clarified what happened in a video, saying, "I wanted to convey the presence of people at the rally to the whole world... and amidst all these crowds, I made a mistake that became an excuse for opponents of the Iranian regime."
He continued, "I apologize for the mistake, but to the anti-government protesters who stir up controversy every year on February 11 and claim that we use AI-generated images, I know you are upset by the large number of people who attend, so you'd better calm down."
It is worth noting that February 11th marks the anniversary of the victory of the revolution in 1979, the fall of the Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi regime, and the return of Ali Khomeini to power in Iran.
