ALBAWABA - A 17-year-old adolescent disguised as "Santa Claus" fatally stabbed a 21-year-old guy and seriously wounded another during a violent confrontation on New Year's Eve in Sakarya, northwest Turkey.
The altercation started as a street fight between the kid in the costume and a group of young males. Later that night, the two groups ran into one other again, and this time, the argument became fatal, albeit it is still unknown what caused it in the first place.
The teenager, disguised as "Santa Claus," stabbed one guy and wounded another, according to local media. Online footage of the first altercation showed a group of young males attacking the adolescent in costume as onlookers, some of whom were also dressed in costume, did nothing.
The "Santa Claus" attire was unrelated to the incident's motivation, the Anadolu Agency said. Whether the adolescent sought out the gang to exact revenge after the original incident is still unknown.
Ten people have been detained by Turkish police so far on suspicion of being involved in the altercation, and they are still looking into the incident to find out more information. Due to severe injuries sustained during the stabbing, the victim is still in the hospital.
