ALBAWABA - A shocking video recently flooded social media, capturing a mother named Amira Abdo offering her four children "for sale" due to financial hardships and loss of housing in Egypt, as reported by Euro News.
Amira said in the video that her four children are for sale because their father abandoned them without providing financial aid. She added that despite working for six years, she could no longer afford proper housing for them. At the end of the video, both the mother and her children burst out crying due to the situation in question.
In response to the video, the Egyptian government intervened and provided support to the woman and her children. Minister of Labor, Mohamed Gabran, confirmed that he personally contacted Amira and stated that they are committed to providing a decent life for the family of five.

The painful clip shook Egypt's side of social media, with many netizens urging the government to help the family. On the contrary, others demanded that the mother should be arrested for attempting to sell her children online.
A social media user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "What happened is heartbreaking. A mother has reached this stage because she is broken and has no support whatsoever. I see the question isn't why she did this; the question is, where is the state? Where are the authorities that are supposed to protect?"
Another wrote, "A painful clip showing a mother's despair from poverty and her husband's abandonment, and her crying confirms that it is a cry for help, not a real sale."
