ALBAWABA - Polish CEO and millionaire Piotr Szczerek, who sparked outrage after snatching a signed hat by pro tennis player Kamil Majchrzak from a child named Brock at the 2025 US Open, reportedly released a statement doubling down on his controversial actions.

The statement titled "CEO Response" read, "The recent incident at the tennis match has caused a disproportionate online uproar. It’s all about the famous hat, of course. Yes, I took it. Yes, I did it quickly. But as I’ve always said, life is first come, first served."

Szczerek then threatened in the statement to take legal action against social media users holding him accountable for his actions towards the child.

He added, "Regarding online hate, I remind you that insulting a public figure is subject to legal liability. All offensive comments, slander, and insinuations will be analyzed for the possibility of taking the matter to court."

Note that the statement's authenticity remains unconfirmed.

Szczerek's statement also triggered an angry response from users on social media:

A social media user wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), "You stole a hat from a kid. You are a despicable piece of sh*t. You are a selfish, worthless waste of oxygen, and you should be ashamed. Sue me."

Another wrote, "He’s a millionaire CEO of a private company, and now he’s bravely threatening to sue anyone who dares to call him a “greedy POS” or anything equally hurtful."

Meanwhile, pro tennis player Kamil Majchrzak managed to meet with Brock, gifting him another signed hat and a picture. However, while many praised Majchrzak for his kind gesture, the hate towards Piotr Szczerek has shown no sign of fading.

Szczerek's company, Drogbruk, is getting review-bombed on Google and is being targeted in boycott calls from angry locals.

By the time of reporting, Drogbruk's rating on Google dropped to 1.4/5, and reviews on Trustpilot are being flagged for containing offensive and harmful language towards Piotr Szczerek.
