ALBAWABA - Former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his family have landed in Moscow and been granted shelter by the Russian government, according to Russian media, which cited a Kremlin source.
After his regime fell and the opposition took control of Damascus, Assad's whereabouts were mysterious. There had been a great deal of conjecture regarding his whereabouts.
Weeks of uncertainty are over with the Kremlin's confirmation. Regarding Assad's future and the conditions of his asylum in Russia, no additional information has been released.
