ALBAWABA - Despite the Islamic State's (ISIS) announcement of being responsible for the horrific attack in Moscow, Russia, many analysts took to link the attack to Israel's Mossad.
"Israel is ISIS" has been trending since the horrific Moscow attack on Friday during which at least 133 people were killed and many others were injured in the deadly shooting and subsequent fire.
On Friday, a group of gunmen stormed the Crocus City Hall, a large music venue just outside of the Russian capital and opened fire on attendance. Russia’s security service announced arresting 11 people, including four directly involved in the attack.
Is Mossad linked to the Moscow attack?
Many prominent activists and journalists took to social media to accuse Mossad of being behind the attack in Russia clarifying the causes and advantages Israel is having from this attack which was described as the worst in Russia's modern history.
Lebanese journalist Ghada Oueiss posted on X saying Israel can have multiple advantages of recreating ISIS, "distract people from Israeli crimes in Gaza, second it can activate Islamophobia to decrease sympathy from West towards Palestinians in Gaza, as well as to revenge to the Russian stance of the war in Gaza."
Nonetheless, many others posted online an old video in which allegedly ISIS members were sending a message threatening Hamas members.
In 2015, The Guardian reported that ISIS members, who were in Syria, posted a video threatening to "turn the Gaza Strip into another of their Middle East fiefdoms." It further accused Hamas of being insufficiently strict about "religious enforcement".
