ALBAWABA - A huge herd of horses escaped from a southern Turkish farm and found their way onto a major road, shocking cars as they darted across traffic in an unexpected midnight occurrence.
The herd, which included around 20 mares and stallions, reportedly ran away from a businessman's property in Mersin, according to the local media. The horses found themselves on a major highway that leads to the city of Adana, which is close.
Drivers posted videos of the strange scenario on social media, showing the horses rushing next to and between driving cars. The video immediately went viral on the internet, evoking strong feelings from viewers.
According to authorities, the incident ended safely when a number of drivers and pedestrians were able to apprehend some of the animals. Others kept running and were pursued by the owner of the property, who is now in charge of gathering up the surviving horses.

Officials stated that no traffic accidents or injuries were recorded during the event, despite the hectic atmosphere.
