ALBAWABA - Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has commented on reports of a significant military advancement by Russian forces in eastern Ukraine, suggesting that Ukraine is nearing a major setback.

The discussion emerged on the platform "X," where a user highlighted a report claiming that Russian troops are just 1.5 kilometers away from Pokrovsk (formerly Krasnoarmeysk), a key logistical hub in Donetsk. The potential capture of Pokrovsk, critical to Ukraine's military operations, could represent one of the most substantial defeats for Kyiv in recent months.

Musk responded to the post, stating, "Peace should have been pursued long ago." He has previously voiced concerns about Ukraine's ongoing conflict, cautioning that without a negotiated settlement with Russia, Ukraine may face further territorial losses.

The billionaire expressed hope that the "bloodshed in Ukraine" might soon end, pointing to President-elect Donald Trump's proposed peace efforts as a potential pathway to resolution.
