ALBAWABA - In a short message posted on the social networking site "X," former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who was abruptly fired, reiterated his commitment to Israel's security while avoiding commenting on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's comments.
"The security of the State of Israel has been and will always remain my life’s mission," Gallant stated in his statement.
Gallant's termination was announced earlier Tuesday by Prime Minister Netanyahu, who cited serious differences of opinion on Israel's military policy. According to Netanyahu, a "crisis of trust" had progressively developed between him and Gallant, impeding efficient cooperation in conflict management.
Following Gallant's dismissal, Netanyahu named Gideon Sa'ar as Foreign Minister and Yisrael Katz as Defense Minister.
