ALBAWABA - In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, Spokesperson of the Yemeni Armed Forces Admiral Yahya Sare'e has announced that all Israeli-operated and owned ships are now a legitimate target for the Yemeni Armed Forces.

In the statement, Admiral Sare'e said: "Based on religious, national and moral responsibility, and in view of the brutal Israeli-American aggression that the Gaza Strip is being subjected to, including daily massacres and genocide, and in response to the demands of our Yemeni people and the demands of free peoples, and to provide relief to our oppressed people in Gaza".

Admiral Sare'e further stated that the Yemeni Armed Forces would be striking all vessels carrying the Israeli flag, being operated or owned by Israeli companies.

He also urged all nations to withdraw their citizens who are active crew members of these ships in addition to avoiding business deals that allow working with these Israeli vessels.

This statement comes after a number of attacks recorded from Yemen towards Israeli targets in response to the ongoing relentless Israeli bombardment across the Gaza Strip since October 7.

Hamas operation against Israel

Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.

Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The ongoing relentless Israeli aggression on Gaza has so far killed at least 12,300, including more than 5,000 children, and more than 3,000 women. The Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported that at least 6,000 people have been reported missing and are believed to be trapped under the rubble.
